Spring Concert
Sunday, April 5, 2009
2:00 p.m.
Pioneer United Methodist Church
Auburn, CA
|
The Band has a new - temporary - rehearsal location:
Woodside Village Mobile Home Park - Clubhouse
12155 Luther Road in Auburn
(quarter mile east of Hwy. 49, opposite Gary C. Tanko Well Drilling)
There is parking on the far side of the clubhouse.
Quiet time in the Park starts at 9:00 p.m.!
The Auburn Concert Band has lost its rehearsal space and is in need of
another. Woodside Village Mobile Home Park has graciously consented to
let the Band rehearse at its clubhouse temporarily, but a more permanent
site is still needed.
We are asking the public for its help in finding a rehearsal space on
Wednesday nights from 6:30-9:30 p.m. (actual rehearsal time is 7:00 to
9:00 p.m.) The Band rehearses from the end of August through mid-May.
As our Band's annual budget is minimal and committed to existing
expenses, we are looking for a free or low-cost location. A school band
room with percussion equipment, chairs and music stands that we could
use would be ideal. Also preferable would be good lighting, close
parking (to accommodate large instruments), restrooms nearby, and a high
ceiling.
The Auburn Concert Band has non-profit status and liability insurance.
The Auburn Concert Band provides a place for adult musicians to continue
playing their instruments and to perform for the community. We typically
put on two formal concerts each season. We also perform for a variety of
community functions such as the Elks Lodge dinner in October and the
annual Eisley Nursery Mothers Day Outdoor Concert. Smaller ensembles
formed within the Band also perform at Old Town Auburn's Country
Christmas, the Ragtime Corner during the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, the
Auburn Art Walk, and the Placer Nature Center Fourth Friday Lectures.
If you have a place the Band could use, please contact the president,
Bruce Heseltine.
Thank you!
