Spring Concert

The band was honored to host the winner of The SVSBA Student
Award for 2012, Courtney Sams, who performed
"Concertino" by C. M. v. Weber, Op. 26, arr. by M. L. Lake.

Courtney Sams is currently a senior at Folsom High School
and has been actively involved in music within the community
and her high school. She has participated in numerous honor
bands including: CMEA/CBDA All-State, Cal Poly All-State,
NCBA All-Northern, and CMEA Capital Section. She is a member
of the Sacramento Youth Symphony’s Premier Orchestra, and
Clarion Clarinet Quartet. Additionally, she has served as
the Drum Major for the Folsom High School Marching Band for
3 years. She has been principal clarinet with the Folsom
High School Wind Ensemble, and Symphony Orchestra. She also
plays the alto saxophone, and has been a member of the
Folsom High School Jazz band for the past 4 years. She is
currently studying privately with Sandra McPherson and is
planning to major in Music Performance. |
